<International Circulation>: You mentioned there that one third of diabetic patients remain undiagnosed. Diagnosis then is a significant part of the problem.

Prof Marso: Correct. At any given time in the United States， twenty to thirty percent of people have diabetes and don’t know that they have it. There are several contributing factors here. They are asymptomatic so they are not seeing physicians and when physicians do see patients sometimes they don’t think about diagnosing diabetes. You really have to be aware that there are a lot of people with a chronic disease and if we don’t know there is a problem it makes it very hard to manage the problem.
