Dr. Dayi Hu has talked about the use of risk factor modification in Beijing. What’s your advice on how to improve the risk factor modification in the future......
<International Circulation>:So would it be your advice, based on what you know about the Netherlands, that perhaps following guidelines would give better quality of care?
May Chen: In theory, yes, but it is not as easy as it seems. Because whether the doctors will follow guidelines has to do with culture. The Dutch culture may be very different from the Chinese culture. The Chinese in many ways are more individualistic so it is hard to say. To get something done you can’t just say do it because you should do it: this is good for you and your patients. It involves a whole slew of other things with the support structure and system, whether they are there.
